2. The Proof-of-Life Protocol
2.1 Overview
Proof-of-Life (PoL) is Helius Network's proprietary verification mechanism that confirms genuine real-world human movement — distinguishing live humans from bots, emulators, and GPS spoofers.
2.2 How PoL Works
- Movement Detection: The Helius app monitors GPS-based movement patterns at configurable intervals.
- Anti-Spoofing Validation: A multi-layer LocationValidator checks for GPS spoofing, mock location software, and emulator patterns.
- Hash Generation: Valid movement events generate a cryptographic hash — no precise coordinates are stored or transmitted.
- On-Chain Submission: Movement hashes are submitted to the Solana blockchain via the PoL verification engine.
- Reward Distribution: Verified participants earn HLS tokens from the designated community mining wallet.
2.3 Privacy by Design
PoL is engineered for privacy. Your exact GPS coordinates are never transmitted to Helius servers or recorded on-chain. Only cryptographic proofs of movement are submitted, making it mathematically impossible to reverse-engineer your location from on-chain data.
